Our guest speaker will be Dr. Luca Lantero, Associate Professor at the European Law & Governance School (ELGS) and Director of the Institute for Higher Education Law and Governance (IHELG), part of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).

Dr. Lantero also serves as General Director of CIMEA, Italy’s national center for academic recognition and mobility. With extensive expertise in international education systems, the regulation of bogus diplomas and accreditation mills, and the digitalization of academic recognition—including the use of blockchain and AI—he is a leading voice in shaping the future of higher education. He currently holds high-level roles within the European Higher Education Areaand Council of Europe initiatives.

This promises to be an insightful and thought-provoking session for anyone interested in the evolving landscape of higher education.

2024 CELELC Conference https://www.celelc.org/2024-celelc-conference/ Thu, 28 Nov 2024 16:27:24 +0000 https://www.celelc.org/?p=772 The 2024 CEL/ELC Conference, titled “Multilingualism in Higher Education: Current Perspectives and Emergent Issues”, has been held at Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on November 28th-29th, 2024. The conference provided an in-depth exploration of the need to reassess the role of dominant contact languages within the multilingual landscape of internationalized higher education. It emphasized the importance of ensuring an equitable distribution of linguistic resources among diverse groups of students, taking into account linguistic, ethnic, and cultural differences.

The CELEC Board would like to express its sincere gratitude to Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) for its warm hospitality and support in hosting this event, and to the speakers, whose insightful presentations contributed to a valuable discussion on these topics.
